Tesla intends to continue offering these training programs to regional fire departments and state fire service schools. The Brandenburg Ministry of the Interior observed the initial sessions to provide valuable feedback. While current exercises avoid live fires or fluid leaks due to the factory's location within a drinking water protection zone, Tesla covers the program costs to bolster first responders' expertise in EV safety and accident procedures.

Fath also addressed concerns about EV fires, noting that studies and recent data indicate EVs catch fire less frequently than their gasoline-powered counterparts. This is attributed to fewer flammable materials and the absence of gasoline or diesel tanks, reducing ignition sources. Statistics from organizations like the German Insurance Association (GDV) and the US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) support this, showing significantly lower fire incident rates for EVs compared to combustion-engine vehicles.
